Hey there! I attempted to post a Q&A earlier but I accidentally refreshed the page before I was able to save it so rip the 2 hours I spent on it. Instead of sulking, I am back with another attempt to answer these 20 questions I found online (credit goes to RunningInASkirt). 1. Do you have any nicknames? I think my name - Jenny - already sounds like a nickname but my mom likes to call me Jenna sometimes and a few students that I used to tutor would call me Jen so I think those count? I'm totally down for a new nickname though if anyone has any suggestions. 2. Are you named after anyone? Nope, and extra fun fact: I also don't have a middle name. Sometimes I wish I had a cool story behind my name but the truth is, my dad liked the name Jenny so that's what my parents went with. I was almost named Emily though which is a big deal to me because I can't picture myself as an Emily although I think it's a beautiful name. 3. Do you have any siblings? Yes, I do! I have two younger brothers named Jason and Dennis. As of me writing this (December 2018) Jason is 13 and Dennis is 10. They're such a handful but I don't know what I'd do without them. 4. Where did you grow up? I grew up in a suburb outside of Chicago, IL with around 30,000 people. There wasn't much going on but I still loved it. 5. What activities did you do in high school? My main extracurricular was tennis which I did for three years (missed tryouts my freshman year) and I found a love for it so I'm continuing it in college. As for clubs, I was the secretary of UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) which a friend of mine created at our school. I was also involved in Political Science Club, MSA (Muslim Student Association) Club, and Spanish Club, but the job that I had during my senior year required me to work on the days that those clubs met so I wasn't able to finish my high school experience with them. If you are in high school now, I definitely recommend getting involved and finding things that you enjoy! It's a great way to make friends, develop an interest, and have fun. 6. Where did you go to college? I'm only a freshman but I'm a business student at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. I just finished my first quarter so I haven't been here long, but so far I love it! 7. What activities did you do in college? Still in college like I mentioned, but honestly, I haven't really gotten involved in much other than tennis here because my main focus has been my academics. I did attend a club meeting for a group that I thought I was passionate about but I realized after that it wasn't a match for me. However, getting involved is important to me so I'd love to find new clubs and organizations to join. 8. What did you study in college? My current major is Business Administration and my minor is Marketing but I've been thinking about switching my major to Marketing or possibly Accounting. Luckily I have a year or two to decide because I am only getting through my general education requirements and business core which won't change if I do end up switching within the business field. My thought process right now is to continue taking business classes and see which ones interest me the most that I am also able to succeed in and I'll figure it out from there. Easier said than done of course so wish me luck! 9. What was your first job out of college? Yup, you guessed it, I'm still in college. How'd you know?! Don't worry, I'll keep you posted in 4 years or so. 10. What kind of music do you like? I listen to alternative or as I like to call it, emo music. Some of my favorite bands are Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, Sleeping with Sirens, Three Days Grace, and Heartist. I have plenty more but that would take up an entire blog post itself. One of my best friend likes to call my music taste Punk Pop but I'm sticking to emo. I can also appreciate other genres though including pop and country; I don't know why country gets a bad rep, it reminds me of happy, summertime road trips. The only genre that I'm not a big fan of is rap. 11. What's one hobby that you'd like to take up? For the longest time, it was blogging and it kind of still is. Sometimes I sit down to write one of the many ideas I have and for some reason, it's difficult to begin typing even when I know what I want to say. But, here I am, so another hobby I'd like to take up is makeup or improving my makeup skills because I am a minimal wearer but I used to love collecting it and I still love watching youtube tutorials all the time. 12. What did you think you wanted to be when you grew up? This is a hard question for me to answer because I never really thought about it outside of what my family spent years suggesting so up until my sophomore year of high school, I thought I wanted to become a pharmacist or something within the medical field. The reason I realized it wasn't something that interested me is a long story but to make it short, I took Chemistry Honors and had a horrible experience but it helped me understand that I have no interest in pursuing chemistry in the long run. 13. What's the biggest project on your to-do list? Long term: graduate college with a degree in something I enjoy. Short term: buy Christmas presents for my family and friends. I get so stressed out over buying gifts because I overthink things and want them to be special. I love giving gifts though so I'm also excited. 14. Do you have an irrational fears? I don't know if it counts as irrational but bugs really freak me out. 15. Have you ever traveled outside the country? If so, where? Yes, I've traveled to Albania which is a country in Europe but it was years ago when I was really young so I don't remember much. Traveling is on my bucket list and something I want to do after I graduate. 16. When's your next vacation and where are you going? I don't have any plans as of now because college is so expensive. If I could travel, my top destinations are Albania again, Italy, and France. 17. Do you speak any other languages? Yes, I speak Albanian but not as fluently as I used to. I also took Spanish for 6 years so I'd say I kind of speak it. I'd love to continue learning Albanian and then take up French and Russian. 18. What's one talent that you wish you had? Definitely singing because I sing all the time when I'm at home but I don't have the guts to sing in public. I love watching covers on youtube and instagram and they totally make me wish I was that good. 19. What's something that you wish you could do one more time? I wish I could talk to and spend time with my grandparents because they passed away when I was very young and they lived in Albania so I didn't have the chance to make many memories. 20. If you weren't in your current job, what would you want to be doing? I'm a full time student but if I wasn't, I'd like to continue my old job as a math and reading tutor at Kumon (a tutoring center). It was a rewarding and fun job that I did for over a year up until I began college. And there we go, 20 questions and answers to get to know me better! I tag all of my fellow bloggers to answer these too. Thanks for taking time out of your day to read my post, I really appreciate it!
